“Pitching for Management
is a series of events across the UK where fast growth businesses pitch their management challenges to an audience of experienced, talented business professionals that are looking for a new challenge and thrive on the buzz of working within entrepreneurial companies followed by a panel debate on the issues facing ambitions businesses and a keynote speaker.
Pitching for Management started in 2008 when the recession meant that top executives were suddenly out of work and Modwenna Rees-Mogg – CEO and Founder of P4M – noticed a gap between these people and the entrepreneurs she knew that needed to build their team before they could find investment. These people are no longer looking for the top salaries that they are used to because they are happy to give their skills and knowledge in exchange for a small salary, stock options and commission as they know that the long term rewards will be worth it.
It has been proven that investors don't just look at the product any more, but they look at the team as well - an A grade team can make a B grade business idea work, but B grade teams can easily screw up an A grade idea so getting the right team in place early on is important for anyone looking to grow their business.
With recent successes
including placing the former MD of Revlon UK in a Hampshire based cosmetics company and the ex-Senior Vice President for Brand Management for Visa Europe in a Birmingham based mobile payments business, Pitching for Management is becoming the must attend pop-up business event.
P4M run events around the UK three times a year in cities such as Bristol, Oxford, Guildford and Cambridge and run their London flagship event six times a year. A full list of events can be found here
